Admission Procedures

Learn about the admission process, requirements, and deadlines for admission to Asian Theological Seminary.

  • Initial Visit

Prospective students are encouraged to visit ATS to become familiar with the campus, meet the faculty, and gain a clear understanding of the institution’s academic and spiritual environment. During the visit, eligible candidates may complete an application form, provided they meet the required academic and spiritual qualifications. Applicants for master’s-level studies with a theological background (B.Th.) must have completed a minimum of 114 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.3 (equivalent to a grade “C”) in order to qualify for advanced theological studies. Likewise, applicants holding a secular bachelor’s degree must meet the same minimum GPA requirement. In all cases, applicants must demonstrate a clear and consistent Christian commitment. The Admissions Office will evaluate each applicant’s biblical knowledge, academic background, personal character, and evidence of a committed Christian life and ministry. To uphold academic integrity and prevent fraud, ATS will admit transfer students from other seminaries only after their certificates and academic transcripts have been digitally verified and officially approved.

  • Submission of Application

Applicants must submit a completed application form to the Registrar’s Office after filling out the digital admission form. The application must be accompanied by the following required documents: photocopies of all university or college certificates and mark sheets, one recent passport-sized photograph, a recommendation letter from the applicant’s local church pastor or elder, a conduct certificate from the applicant’s previous college, a medical report describing the applicant’s physical health condition, and a written testimony of the applicant’s saving faith and Christian journey.

  • Entrance Exam

Only those applicants who meet the initial requirements will be allowed to sit for the entrance exam. This written test will assess the applicant's general knowledge of the Bible, and candidates must achieve at least a “C” (GPA 2.3) to pass the exam.

  • Interview

Candidates who pass the written test will be invited for a formal interview, typically conducted by a panel of faculty members. The interview will cover topics such as the applicant’s motivation, theological understanding, personal background, and future goals. The panel will assess the candidate’s communication skills, theological insight, and overall readiness for the program.

  • Confirmation

The names of the candidates who successfully pass both the written test and the interview will be published on the notice board. These selected candidates will receive admission offers and must confirm their acceptance within seven days before the start of classes. This confirmation process may involve signing an acceptance letter and possibly paying an admission fee to secure their spot. By following these detailed steps, prospective students can navigate the competitive admission process at ATS successfully.
