Learn more about ATS and its mission and vision.

Asian Theological Seminary (ATS), affiliated with Asia Evangelical College & Seminary, Bangalore and formerly known as AECS Nepal, is an evangelical, non-denominational theological Seminary. Christianity was introduced to Nepal by Jesuit missionaries in the eighteenth century, but it remained restricted under the Rana regime until 1951. Limited religious freedom granted from 1952, along with the restoration of democracy in 1990, contributed to the rapid growth of the church throughout Nepal. However, theological education did not develop at the same pace, resulting in doctrinal confusion and weak spiritual leadership in many churches. Therefore, institutions such as ATS play a vital role in equipping Christian leaders with sound biblical training, spiritual maturity, and effective ministry skills to strengthen the church and preserve a faithful Christian witness in Nepal.
