Introduction

Asian Theological Seminary (ATS), affiliated with Asia Evangelical College & Seminary, Bangalore and formerly known as AECS Nepal, is an evangelical, non-denominational theological Seminary. Christianity was introduced to Nepal by Jesuit missionaries in the eighteenth century, but it remained restricted under the Rana regime until 1951. Limited religious freedom granted from 1952, along with the restoration of democracy in 1990, contributed to the rapid growth of the church throughout Nepal. However, theological education did not develop at the same pace, resulting in doctrinal confusion and weak spiritual leadership in many churches. Therefore, institutions such as ATS play a vital role in equipping Christian leaders with sound biblical training, spiritual maturity, and effective ministry skills to strengthen the church and preserve a faithful Christian witness in Nepal.

" My journey at ATS laid the cornerstone of my theological pursuits, enriching my ministry with a profound, contextual education. This invaluable preparation not only honed my skills and deepened my knowledge but also equipped me to lead at various levels of ministry. It empowered me to discern the needs of nations and adopt a global vision, enabling me to serve with a heart attuned to the broader tapestry of humanity, both in Nepal and beyond. "
