Learn more about ATS and its mission and vision.
Asian Theological Seminary, affiliated with Asia Evangelical College & Seminary in Bangalore and formerly known as AECS Nepal, is an evangelical, non-denominational theological seminary. Christianity, introduced in Nepal by Jesuit missionaries in the 18th century, was banned under the Rana regime until 1951. No record of Christianity is found in Nepal until 1952. The limited religious freedom granted after 1952, along with the restoration of democracy in 1990, led to rapid church growth, with churches emerging in nearly every village and city. However, the lack of sound theological training has caused doctrinal challenges, underscoring the importance of institutions such as the Asian Theological Seminary in equipping leaders and strengthening the church.

What our students say about Asian Theological Seminary.
" ATS stands as one of the premier seminaries in Nepal for theological studies. It is a place where the faculty, such as the esteemed Rev. Mitralal Pokharel, impart not only theological and spiritual knowledge but also profound wisdom that enriches all facets of life. This institution fosters an environment where students are guided to discern the divine purpose that God has uniquely ordained for each of them in this world. "
